From gold to lace, plastic to feathers (and two-foot long umbrellas), this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show featured perhaps the most unique angel wings to date. With 2 million Swarovski crystals, the show secured its spot as “the sexiest night on television.”

Stomping down 100 feet of runway to performances by Jay-Z, Kanye West, Maroon 5 and Nicki Minaj, 38 models debuted new lines in the 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Tuesday. The show was filmed in New York City on Nov. 9 in front of a star-studded audience.

Divided into six distinct sections, the show began with a seemingly “Black Swan”-inspired “Ballet” motif. “Super Angels” featured Adriana Lima and Anja Rubik in “Wow” and “Incredible” comic book-themed capes.

“Angels Aquatic” played with iridescent wings and glittering, rich colors. “Passion” was inspired by traditional Spanish dances and included deep colors, heavy textures and detailing. “I Put a Spell on You” featured sexy, feminine lace and embroidered corsets channeling turn of the century New Orleans.

Ending with “Club Pink,” the show played tribute to the brand’s little sister with flirty, bright colors and the classic Pink dog.

Erin Heatherton’s coral-colored, pearl-detailed bra with luminescent wings outfit was a show winner. The feminine look really shined. Lima’s dramatic black, blue and purple feathered wings with sheer purple corset and lace gloves captured the evening’s allure. Karlie Kloss’ light-up wings and disco ball waist certainly stole the Pink story with whimsy and creativity. Miranda Kerr’s sultry pirate-reminiscent outfit kept the looks playful yet sexy.

Musical performances included Kanye West, who performed “Stronger,” the same song he was scheduled to perform at the 2007 show but had to cancel due to his mother’s death, as well as “N—-s in Paris” with Jay-Z. Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” performance included a kiss on the cheek from Adam Levine to his angel girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna. Replacing the originally scheduled Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj ended the show in her typical outlandish style.

The show gets even more intricate each year, and this year’s use of 300 pounds of glitter on the runway makes it seem like there will be no stop to the glamour. So until next year, the angels have left us with the uncontrollable desire to stomp through the halls in six-inch heels with West’s “Stronger” blaring in our ear buds.
