It appears LMFAO will formally apologize to Columbus crowds for party rocking.

LMFAO is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. May 22 at Nationwide Arena. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Far East Movement (“Like a G6″), The Quest Crew, Sidney Samson, Eva Simons and Natalia Kills are scheduled to appear as openers.

LMFAO is a divisive act but has become a power on pop radio and on the charts. “Party Rock Anthem” was one of last summer’s powerhouses, being certified platinum five times after reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart.

LMFAO catches a lot of flak for being brainless pop drivel, but while it probably is that, it’s at least catchy brainless pop drivel. “Party Rock Anthem” was one of my guilty pleasures last summer, and other singles, “Sexy and I Know it” and “Sorry for Party Rocking,” have also become club hits.

LMFAO joins a list of fairly big names scheduled to perform in Columbus in the coming months. The Schottenstein Center is scheduled to host The Black Keys March 4, Nickelback April 15, Barry Manilow April 21 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers June 4. Nationwide Arena is set to host Miranda Lambert June 14.
