A main water line broke near campus Saturday along 12th Avenue, interrupting water service to Drinko Hall for much of the day.

After a section of pipe began to leak at about 2 p.m., crews shut off water within 45 minutes of receiving the report, OSU spokeswoman for Administration and Planning Lindsay Komlanc said in an email Saturday.

Crews from Facilities Operations and Development Utilities installed a new section of pipe and restored service by 9 p.m.

There was some water in the university’s utility tunnel, but Komlanc said upon initial inspection no water damage to Drinko Hall was found.

Drinko Hall houses OSU’s Moritz College of Law and is located at 55 W. 12th Ave.
