Chalk Talk: Basketball on the road, Tennis shutouts, and Women’s hockey loses at home

Andrew Todd-Smith and Aaron Yerian discuss the continuation of Big Ten play as Ohio State men’s basketball split road games against Iowa and Northwestern this week. Freshman guard D’Angelo Russell is shining this season, notching his first career double-double in Iowa City and had a career-high 33 points against the Wildcats in Evanston, Ill.

Women’s hoops also split their action, dropping a game to Minnesota while beating Penn State. Men’s volleyball defeated George Mason 3-1 Friday night, led by freshman opposite Nick Szerszen, while men’s tennis defeated Butler and Xavier 7-0 in back-to-back matches Wednesday. Finally, women’s ice hockey dropped consecutive 1-0 decisions on home ice to the University of North Dakota and we heard from head coach Nate Handrahan after the series.
