A dominating performance Saturday against then No. 10 Nebraska and a stunning loss by then No. 4 Texas A&M has thrust the Ohio State football team back into the College Football Playoff picture, as the Buckeyes find themselves at No. 5 with the latest playoff poll on Tuesday night.
Alabama remained in the top spot, with Clemson and Michigan following behind, respectively. In a shake-up of the top four spots, Washington has now moved up to fourth.
Texas A&M has now dropped behind OSU, finding themselves at No. 8.
As for the rest of the Big Ten, Wisconsin jumped to No. 7, while Nebraska dropped to No. 19. Penn State now finds itself at No. 10 after posting 41 points Saturday against Iowa.
OSU will be traveling to College Park, Maryland, to face the Maryland Terrapins at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN. OSU is 2-0 all-time against Maryland, winning 49-28 in Columbus.
With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, OSU needs to bank on Michigan winning the next two games or a Penn State loss to keep its title contention hopes alive.
