Commuters who are still experiencing difficulties with faulty key cards while parking on campus are encouraged to exchange them for the remanufactured cards. Sarah Blouch, director of Traffic and Parking at OSU, said it is important for holders of the faulty key cards to exchange them as soon as possible. The old key cards are causing mechanical problems with the readers at the gates, and all commuters will be affected if the proper cards are not used, she said. The problem with the cards stems from a manufacturing defect in the width of the card, which is smaller than the correct dimensions.Cards displaying five digits should be replaced, and the new cards have been designated with six digits, Blouch said.Commuters affected are those who park in the eight garages and have gate access, said Yvette Whitaker, Outreach Liaison for Traffic and Parking.Buses will be stationed across campus to make it easier for commuters to exchange the key cards, Blouch said.Cards can be exchanged from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. at the following locations:
- Jan. 22, Larkins Hall loop
- Jan. 23, Watts Hall bus stop
- Jan. 26, 12th Ave. garage
- Jan. 27, 9th Ave. garage
Questions regarding the dispersal of new cards should be directed toward Transportation and Parking Services at 292-9341.
