As a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, I found the article “Sorority Girls be warned: campus critic on the prowl” very offensive. I have spent the past week mourning for the lives of those lost in the recent tragedies in the United States. There is nothing I would say or do to ever disrespect our country or what it is coping with. I watch the news every night praying that families, firefighters, police officers, victims and government officials will find the strength and courage to survive after this tragedy. For you to judge the character and values of an entire sorority is offensive and distasteful. Our camouflage rush shirts were planned back in spring quarter, long before these events ever occurred in our country. However, we also found them to be appropriate for the time frame now.
The Army representatives at the student involvement fair found our shirts to be encouraging and patriotic. Our house is well aware of the devastation in our country, and many women in Delta Gamma have been affected by it. No one in this sorority would ever show disrespect toward The United States of America. I think in the future it will be very important to watch what is said about others. You have offended more than you know.
