NORWALK, Ohio – A northern Ohio couple convicted of abuse for forcing their adopted children to sleep in cages must report to jail by Monday morning.
A Huron County judge is ordering Michael and Sharen Gravelle to begin serving two-year prison sentences for child endangering and child abuse.
The Gravelles were convicted of abusing some of their 11 special-needs children after authorities said the couple kept some of the kids in wire and wood enclosures.
The judge’s order comes after an Ohio court turned down their appeal for a new trial earlier this week.
Most of their children have been placed in adoptive homes since they were removed from the Gravelles.
