The final street sweeping of the quarter will take place Thursday and Friday in the University District.
The area to be swept runs from East 11th Avenue to Norwich Avenue between High Street and the CSX railroad east of campus, said Steve Sterrett, spokesman for Campus Partners, a nonprofit community group.
North Fourth Street, Summit Street, King Avenue and Hudson Street will also be affected.

The sweeping will not affect Neil Avenue south of the university because it is on the Victorian Village sweeping schedule.
Students are advised to look for the permanent signs, which are placed on the affected streets, Sterrett said.
“The major reason [the sweeping] is done is to do two things: one, to keep debris out of the gutters and the storm sewers,” Sterrett said. “It also improves the appearance of the neighborhood. It begins to look unkempt, which can over time invite crime. We know it’s inconvenient, but there’s no other way to get the streets swept.”

Cars towed during sweeping will be taken to the city’s impound lot, located at 400 W. Whittier St.
Sterrett said students can call the lot at (614) 645-6400 to find out if their cars have been towed.
A Web site, antitow.com, has been established with information about the city’s towing for street sweeping around Columbus. Anyone can go to the Web site to sign up for free text message reminders about street sweeping.
