USG members urge OSU to support SAFRA
The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act is aimed at producing the maximum amount of college graduates by 2020 by making college more accessible and transforming the student loan programs, according to the U.S. House of Representatives Web site.
Last month 120 members of USG wrote thank-you notes to Senator Sherrod Brown for supporting the SAFRA. Introduced by Zane Roelen, USG Senate also passed a resolution endorsing SAFRA and urging decision makers at OSU, throughout Ohio and in the Federal Government to support passage of this legislation. Passed by the US House of Representatives last September, this bill is fully supported by President Barack Obama and is currently in U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
