Only three Pittsburgh batters reached the plate Tuesday before umpires signaled for the baseball teams to clear the field due to rain. Twenty minutes later, as rain continued, the game between the Panthers and the Buckeyes was officially canceled.

The last non-conference game for both teams will not be rescheduled.

The Buckeyes start a three-game series this Thursday against Big Ten-leading Minnesota with an opportunity to play in the conference tournament on the line.

Ohio State is 10-11 in conference play and sits in a four-way tie for fifth place. The top six teams play in the conference tournament.

The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Bill Davis Stadium.
