A crime alert was issued for the Ohio State Columbus campus by University Police Wednesday afternoon.
OSU Police Division received a report about a male robbing an individual on the High Street side of Sullivant Hall shortly before noon, according to the alert.
The man was described as a black male in his mid-20s with either short or shaved hair, standing at about 5-foot-10-inches and weighing about 150 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt with dark jeans and was armed with a handgun, according to the alert.
The public safety notice is directed toward the campus and off-campus area, including the medical center, academic area and residence halls, according to the alert.
OSU Emergency Management tweeted that the alert had been issued from its account, @OSU_EMFP, at 12:58 p.m.
People with information about the crime have been asked to contact University Police or Columbus Police.
Representatives of the OSU Police Division did not immediately return calls requesting comment Wednesday afternoon.
