The Ohio State football team is set to open its 2015 season on the road Labor Day against Virginia Tech, OSU confirmed Thursday.
The game, which was initially scheduled for Sept. 5, was moved to Sept. 7 and is slated to be televised nationally on either ESPN or ABC, according to the release.
The Buckeyes are also scheduled to host Hawaii Sept. 12, Northern Illinois Sept. 19 and Western Michigan Sept. 26 to round out their non-conference matchups.
It will be the second consecutive year OSU opens the season on the road, as the team is scheduled to travel to future Big Ten foe Maryland in 2014.
The Buckeyes’ open their 2015 Big Ten schedule at Indiana Oct. 3. Other notable contests include Maryland Oct. 10 and Penn State Oct. 17, and then OSU is slated to visit Rutgers for the first time in program history Oct. 24.
OSU is not scheduled to play Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Northwestern or Purdue in the 2015 regular season.
