After a national search, Bruce McPheron has been named executive vice president and provost of Ohio State University.
The announcement, detailed in a news release Wednesday afternoon, was effective immediately.
McPheron was previously OSU’s interim vice president and provost, assuming the position in December after Joseph Steinmetz left OSU to accept a job at the University of Arkansas.
“Bruce is the special type of leader who inspires those around him to always bring their very best effort,” University President Michael Drake said in the release.
Previously, McPheron worked at OSU as the vice president for agricultural administration and dean of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, starting in 2012.
