It took Ohio State redshirt sophomore running back Mike Weber just nine touches to set a personal record of 162 rushing yards in the 48-3 victory against Michigan State Saturday, and the Big Ten honored him as co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.

Weber had two long touchdown runs. He exploded for a 47-yard touchdown on the Buckeyes’ first drive to give his team an early 6-0 lead. In the second quarter, he took a carry 82 yards for a touchdown, the longest rush of his career. Weber’s 18 yards per carry was also the highest of his career.

Facing off against the Spartans, who had the nation’s No. 3 rush defense, Ohio State combined for 335 yards and scored four touchdowns. Freshman running back J.K. Dobbins added 124 rushing yards on 18 carries and redshirt senior quarterback J.T. Barrett had nine rushes for 55 yards.

Weber and the Buckeyes will take on Illinois at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in their final home game of the season at Ohio Stadium.
