Joe Royer, a three-star tight end from Elder High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, announced his commitment to Ohio State’s class of 2020 Tuesday night on Twitter.
Standing at 6-foot-5 with a 225-pound frame, Royer is listed as the No. 13 tight end in the country and the No. 11 player in Ohio per 247Sports.
Royer is now the fourth recruit for the 2020 class and the sixth in the next two classes to commit to Ohio State since June 21.
Out of next year’s recruiting class, Ohio State now has four players from Cincinnati, as Royer joins the No. 1 and No. 2 in-state recruits, offensive lineman Paris Johnson and defensive tackle Darrion, as well as three-star offensive tackle Jakob James.
Royer is the first tight end commit in Ohio State’s class.
