The Board of Trustees will vote on a $20 million outdoor lacrosse stadium to be completed in January 2022 on Thursday.
If approved, the stadium will be east of the Covelli Center on Irving Schottenstein Drive in the Athletics District, with seating for 2,500 occupants, according to the Finance Committee meeting agenda.
New athletics financial requests for 2020 comprise 6.3 percent of the Board’s total $319.9 million request budget, with the lacrosse stadium making up 99 percent of the cost.
The project budget includes $2.3 million allotted to professional services and $17.7 million for construction with contingency.
Designing and bidding for the stadium would take place from September 2019 to September 2020, with construction beginning in October 2020 and finishing in November 2021 before the facility opening, per the plan.
The plan was released Tuesday in the Finance Committee meeting agenda and materials. The Finance Committee will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Sanders Grand Lounge at the Longaberger Alumni House.
