The Ohio State Department of Public Safety issued a public safety notice to the Ohio State community on Monday regarding two similar incidents that happened near campus. 

The first incident took place Jan 1.,  when three males, one being an Ohio State student, were walking along East 14th Avenue. and were confronted by five unknown males at approximately 1:14 a.m. A physical fight occurred, and the Ohio State student suffered injuries to his head, according to the notice. 

Suspect details are limited; they were described as four white males and one black male with a light complexion.

A similar incident happened Sunday at approximately 2:25 a.m. on High Street near the Ohio Union garages. Three males, one being an Ohio State student, were approached by a group of unknown males. 

Words were exchanged, and a fight broke out involving the student and three suspects from the larger group of males, according to the safety notice. The suspects returned to their vehicle and fled. One person suffered injuries to his head, and the Ohio State student sustained minor injuries, according to the notice.

No items were stolen, but the incident is being investigated as an assault. The three suspects were described as a black male, white male and hispanic male. 

As of Jan. 8, University Police believe that the suspects of the Jan. 5 Ohio Union garage attack fled in a white Ford Fusion, according to a University Police tweet. The tweet also included pictures of the suspects and their vehicle.
