Multiple residence halls across Ohio State’s campus were evacuated early Wednesday morning after reports of a natural gas smell in the area, but Ohio State Emergency Management reported Wednesday morning that the smell was actually sewer gas.

Ohio State Emergency Management reported that the odor is prevalent throughout the city’s north side and that the city of Columbus is working to resolve the issue.

Some students were allowed back into residence halls shortly after evacuating, according to multiple reports from students.
