A gas leak at Newton Hall on Ohio State’s campus was contained after the building was evacuated Wednesday when construction crews broke a gas line.

Columbus Fire Department responded to the location at West Ninth and Neil Avenues, according to a tweet from Ohio State Emergency Management.

Newton Hall houses the College of Nursing and Ohio State is currently constructing a 40,000-square-foot addition to the building. A university spokesperson confirmed the gas line break is from this project.
