Ohio State starting center Seth McLaughlin suffered an Achilles injury in Tuesday’s practice and is expected to miss the rest of the season, according to a report from the Columbus Dispatch.
McLaughlin, the graduate center, had transferred from Alabama in January and was in the midst of his first season with the Buckeyes. He was a veteran leader, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
McLaughlin is the second starting offensive lineman to go down with a season-ending injury this year. Left tackle Josh Simmons suffered a knee injury Oct. 12 against Oregon that required surgery.
The Buckeyes next face No. 5 Indiana at home Saturday.
