Ohio State head coach Kevin McGuff announced Thursday that guard Braxtin Miller and forward Rebeka Mikulasikova will both join the Buckeyes for the 2019-20 season.
Prior to joining Ohio State, Miller played two seasons at Oklahoma State. In 62 games, she averaged 13.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists. In only two seasons, she made 105 3-pointers, ninth-most in Oklahoma State history.
Miller was a two-time All-Big 12 honorable mention and was a unanimous Big 12 All-Freshman team member during the 2017-18 season.
“I’m very familiar with Braxtin as she went to high school here in Ohio. We missed out on a chance to coach her the first time around but I’m extremely excited to welcome her into the program now,” McGuff said in a release. “As you saw in her two seasons at Oklahoma State, she’s certainly an exceptional player at the highest level.”
“She can play multiple positions on the perimeter and we’ll use her in a variety of ways. She can shoot the three and can drive and finish around the rim as well.
McGuff described Miller as a player that can guard multiple positions and one that he will use in a variety of ways. He said she will be a valuable asset in terms of shooting from the perimeter and finishing around the rim.
A Dayton, Ohio native, Miller led Alter High School to three straight state championships.
Mikulasikova spent her past three seasons playing for Piestanske Cajky, a club team in the highest league in Slovakia. Her team won the Slovakian cup in 2017 and finished as the runner-up in the Central Europe Women’s League.
Mikulasikova averaged 8.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, shooting about 50 percent from the field.
Mikulasikova has also played on four Slovakian National Teams.
“I’m really excited to add Rebeka to the Buckeye family,” McGuff said in a statement. “She’s going to provide great depth with our post players and she’s extremely versatile. She is skilled around the basket and she can also play on the perimeter. I think she has a chance to be a special player here.
