Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, will be in Columbus Tuesday to visit the city and the university and to speak at the “Spirit of Women” project awards luncheon at the Ohio State University Hospitals.Other events the Duchess will attend include a welcome from city officials at the Westin Hotel and a ceramic tile painting session at the Westin Hotel for the Ohio State University Medical Center’s Spirit of Women Park. The Spirit of Women Park, slated to be completed in 2000, will be located on the medical campus and will commemorate outstanding women who have promoted women’s health.Ferguson will also address medical, nursing and health students at Meiling Hall and make a visit to Dodd Hall, the rehabilitation facility and neonatal intensive care unit at OSU Hospitals.The visit will be hosted by Dr. Bernadine Healy, dean of the OSU Medical School, Tami Longaberger, OSU Board of Trustees member and Abigail Wexner, wife of OSU alumnus and Limited Inc. CEO Leslie Wexner. None of the day’s events will be open to the public.
