The Buckeyes have secured a second piece of their 2027 recruiting class.

Quarterback Brady Edmunds announced his verbal commitment to Ohio State via a Monday X post, which was shared by On3 national recruiting/transfer portal reporter Hayes Fawcett.

Edmunds — a Huntington Beach, California, native — is ranked as the No. 14 overall prospect and No. 2 quarterback in his class.

Edmunds chose Ohio State over Michigan, Texas, Penn State and several other West Coast schools, seemingly deciding to stay true to his family ties.

In an October interview with Eleven Warriors, Edmunds said his family is filled with Buckeye fans; moreover, his grandfather even attended Ohio State for a “short period of time.”

After attending and impressing in a Buckeye recruiting camp in June, Edmunds earned an offer from Day and Ohio State, the Eleven Warriors article stated.

“That offer was definitely one where it was like, ‘Holy s***,’ you know? It was a great feeling,” Edmunds said. “I like envisioning things, so I always thought I was going to get a chance to play at Ohio State and get that offer.”

Edmunds is the second class of 2027 commit for the Buckeyes, joining five-star wide receiver Jamier Brown from Huber Heights, Ohio, who announced his commitment to Ohio State via an X post during the Indiana game.
