The Color Run dyed downtown Saturday.
Monikered the “Happiest 5k on the Planet,” according to its website, the un-timed 5k drenches runners with various colored pigments at each kilometer marker. Participants are instructed to wear white at the starting line and end up resembling something like a kaleidoscope when done. At the finish line, there is a festival with music, dancing and even more color. The organization hosted more than 170 events in 2013 in more than 30 countries.
The Columbus race began at 9 a.m., starting on West Long Street, crossing the Scioto River and ending on West Spring Street.
